Do I see more plaid in my future?

You couldn't possibly get any sillier than these two. They are the cutest, funniest and most beautiful children of my youngest sister. Miss S was so excited to wear her "holiday" dress. She kept telling my that Santa was coming soon and she was beyond thrilled about the prospect of getting lots of toys. I am so blessed to have so many nieces and nephews and of course they just adore their Auntie Lissa. :)

Pretty in Plaid {Family}

My sister has been after me for some time to take some new photos of her little munchkins. These faces represent absolute perfection and love. My sister A is one of those perfect individuals who could pull off a Martha Stewart Christmas and not even bat an eyelash. I am in complete awe of her. My love for her goes deep to my core. I love you A and I hope you treasure these photos as I do. I look forward to many more years of photographing your beautiful children.

Twins

I had such an amazing day shooting these two. It was actually kind of ironic how it played out. We had an appointment this morning to meet at 10 a.m., but when I woke up it was pouring outside and probably 30 degrees. I called "Mom" and we decided to cancel the shoot and reschedule. At about 10:30, to our surprise; it started snowing. "Mom" called and asked if I would mind coming to their house to get a few shots of the kids and of course I jumped at the chance to shoot in the first snow of the season. I am very happy with the results.

The Lewis Girls

OMG...Can I tell you how much fun I had today with these two girls. They are gorgeous and their Mom is a wonderful friend and fellow soccer Mom! I am so pleased with how these turned out. I hope you love these as much as I do Beth. :)

Valerie

Miss Valerie and I had so much fun Thanksgiving Day. We went to a little park on Duke Street in Alexandria and took a few pictures for her to update her facebook page with. It was truly a blast and I love how her pictures turned out. Thanks Val for a great day!

Shelby

Just a couple quick pictures of Shelby. She loves to have her picture taken and since she just got a new "do", I thought I would take some pictures of her in the back yard this evening. Love you Shelbs.

I think this one is my favorite. I just love it!

Miss K ~ 2010 Senior

What an amazing day with this young lady. She is funny, poised and not to mention beautiful. We had quite a challenge getting this session in and had to cancel twice because of this blasted rain we have been getting for the last three weeks, but today; alas, we finally made it happen. I am just thrilled with the outcome.

Miss K - I hope the rest of your Senior year is as fabulous as you are.

Puggles Galore

So what would my blog be without talking about the cutest little puggle in the whole world. Now, I have to tell you I was not a big fan of animals of any kind before my husband and kids talked me into looking for a dog. I think we researched every breed known to man and we ultimately wanted a gentle, sweet tempered family dog. I have a lot of nieces and nephews and of course we needed a dog that could play with them and I didn't want to worry about a dog that would potentially be harmful. My husband found a shelter in West Virginia that had puggles, so he and the girls set out one Friday morning to the shelter to check him out. My daughter sent me a picture mail of the puggle they wanted and my heart melted. So without further adieu, here is our puggle; Samson Ulysses Waller.

{ J } Maternity

Here are a few photos of my sister-in-law. I can't wait to meet my new niece! Thank you "J" for being such a good sport during your session. XOXO

The W Family

What a great day! I got to photograph this awesome (expanding) family. The girls were adorable and so easy to capture. I hope you love your photos as much as I do. I can't wait to photograph Baby G when he arrives.

My girls

As a mother, you dream of having healthy, happy children; but no one tells you that those children will be your everything. You will worry every minute that you are nurturing and teaching them what they need to know to go off into the world someday. It is the most rewarding, yet heart-wrenching experience you will ever go through. As they grow, you look back wondering where in the heck the time went. I look at pictures of my sweet little girls when they were babies and now that they are maturing into young women; Shelby will be going to college soon and they doesn't seem possible to me. As Kenny Chesney would say *Don't Blink*. Time stands still for no one! ~God Bless

About Me

Hi! My name is Melissa.

I am a wife and mother above all else. My husband Chris and I have been married for almost 5 years and we are the parents to two of the most amazing children. Shelby is 16 and Morgan is 11. My husband and my children are my inspiration and my biggest "FANS".

I started my "career" as a Paralegal, but I discovered the photography world two years ago when I started photographing my youngest daughter playing soccer. Needless to say, I was hooked. I got my first Sony DSLR last year and fell in love.

Photography is about capturing "a moment"; not creating it. I am not a big fan of those stiff, waxy posed pictures where you hold your head to the left; no a little more to the right. Don't you just hate that? (lol) I want to capture that pure, innocent and raw love that you have for you family.

I specialize in children, family, high school seniors, maternity and new borns.

So please call me to chat about what services I can offer you. My ultimate goal will be to accommodate your schedule and to meet your expectations
